anne frank didn’t die in hiding, she died in a concentration camp because people stayed silent, followed orders, and told themselves it wasn’t their problem, as long as it wasn’t happening to them.

every human atrocity begins the same way with dehumanization. right now, in los angeles, people are being ripped from their lives and forced to work inside detention centers. that’s actual slavery.

the “illegal” label is just racism used by people who can’t bear the idea of living alongside people of color and won’t admit what they really mean. the tax argument is complete bullshit. immigrants pay taxes. undocumented people pay taxes. sales tax, property tax, payroll tax. all into a system that bleeds them dry without any benefits.

there’s a reason why a lot of ICE agents wear masks. there’s a reason trump pardoned violent white supremacist terrorists who stormed the capitol but wants people deported for speaking out. fear has killed millions of people. fear of speaking up, fear of fighting back. but silence is complicity. and whether you live in this city or not your human rights are on the line too. this is what a dictatorship looks like.
