The 1987 Crockett Cup was a challenging event for me due to its size - 2 nights (April 10 & 11) - 24 teams - 2 singles headliners - the emotional return of Magnum TA. It was also when, at the end of the 1st night, while I was waiting for the hotel lobby elevator, one of the tipsy wrestlers grew impatient and smashed his fist through the wall where the call button used to be. Some things you don't forget. This is a highlight reel of the event (without the elevator incident).

After being charged with double-murder that morning, Simpson — the former NFL great and NBC football analyst — and his former teammate Al Cowlings fled in Cowlings' white Ford Bronco. A 90-minute low-speed police pursuit ensued in Los Angeles.

In an unprecedented measure, NBC broke away multiple times from their live telecast of Game 5 of the 1994 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Rockets to cover the unfolding news developments with O.J.

NBC eventually utilized a split-screen to cover both events.
