It was an honour to attend the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha with Priest Acharya Vinod Sodiyal and the Hindu Society of North America. This multi day celebration reflects the teachings of the Bhagavata Purana and the life of Lord Krishna, bringing families together in prayer. Thank you for the warm welcome.
I joined Sarah Crosbie on QR770 this morning to discuss one of the issues I hear about most from Calgarians: safety on Calgary Transit.
That’s why, in November, I brought forward a successful $9 million budget amendment to expand Transit Peace Officer staffing, strengthen outreach and prevention efforts, and invest in other measures to improve safety across the system.
The early results are encouraging, but there’s more work ahead. I’ll keep pushing for practical, common-sense solutions that make transit safer and give people confidence to ride.
Thank you to Sarah and the QR770 team for the opportunity to have the conversation.
A new Calgary Chamber report estimates Alberta separation could cost up to $62B a year, thousands of dollars per person, and put 175,000 jobs at risk. There's a reason the Bank of Montreal is no longer headquartered in Montreal. Political uncertainty has real economic consequences. https://t.co/nebGlzHs3t
It was a pleasure to join Prime Minister Mark Carney, Diana Fox Carney, Minister Eleanor Olszewski, and MPs Corey Hogan and Matt Jeneroux on the final day of Stampede. Thanks to the Hillhurst-Sunnyside Community Association and volunteers for another fantastic pancake breakfast!
Stampede season is always a special time to see Calgary come together. Celebrating the traditions and community spirit that make our region such a special place to call home.
Great to connect with MP @shuvmajumdar, Councillor @YuleLoveYYC, and Mayor @JeromyYYC.
Crews are moving quickly on a critical water feeder main leak in east Calgary. I’m out here on 17 Avenue S.E., just west of Cushing Bridge.
This is an important pipe. It helps move water from west to east across Calgary and supports reliable water service in east Calgary.
The good news is the leak has been isolated. There are no disruptions to water service for homes or businesses, and we haven’t seen any environmental impacts.
Crews are out here right now, assessing the pipe and figuring out exactly what needs to be done to repair it.
We’re moving quickly because we need this feeder main back in service before the planned Bearspaw South Feeder Main shutdown this fall.
You’re going to see some traffic impacts here on 17th Avenue. One eastbound lane is closed, and there will be some pathway detours.
Please slow down, follow the signs and give our crews room to work.
I wanted to come out here and show you exactly what’s happening. As we learn more, I’ll keep you updated.

That’s a wrap on Stampede 2026! What an incredible 10 days celebrating the people and communities that make Calgary special. Thank you to every volunteer, organizer and Calgarian who made it unforgettable. Yahoo!
As a regular transit user, I want to keep reporting back on what we're doing to make the CTrain safer and how it's working. As part of Coun @John4ward6's $9M safety surge budget amendment, we've added 34 Transit Peace Officers, expanded outreach and prevention and surveyed 3,200+ riders. Early signs are positive, but we have more work ahead.
Major mobility improvements are happening across Ward 6 this construction season.
This graphic highlights some of the larger projects currently underway or planned in our communities. The City of Calgary's Mobility department is hard at work delivering improvements ranging from new traffic signals and pathways to sidewalk upgrades, paving, and accessibility enhancements.
Many additional maintenance, repair, and transportation projects are happening throughout Ward 6 and across Calgary.

Huge thanks to all 40 of my Liberal MP colleagues who made the trip out to Calgary for the Stampede this year - ten days of breakfasts, receptions, community events, and great conversations with Calgarians and visitors from across the country.
The most of us I managed to get in one picture was twenty-five, but couldn't miss the chance to thank everyone who came out:
Sima Acan, Rebecca Alty, Kody Blois, Ben Carr, François-Philippe Champagne, Maggie Chi, Leslie Church, Lena Metlege Diab, Terry Duguid, Ali Ehsassi, Jessica Fancy, Peter Fragiskatos, Sean Fraser, Will Greaves, Claude Guay, Lisa Hepfner, Tim Hodgson, Matt Jenereux, Mike Kelloway, Ginette Lavack, Wayne Long, Michael Ma, Heath MacDonald, James Maloney, Marc Miller, Giovanna Mingarelli, Chi Nguyen, Eleanor Olszewski, Tom Osborne, Nathalie Provost, Zoe Royer, Ruby Sahota, Randeep Sarai, Jake Sawatzky, Peter Schiefke, Terry Sheehan, Maninder Sidhu, Evan Solomon, John Zerucelli… and of course, Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Thanks for coming out and showing Calgary such great support. Thanks for saying “Yahoo” and not “Yee-Haw”. And thanks for being the best colleagues a guy could ask for.
See you all again next year! #CalgaryStampede #YYC
If you're being paid to influence a major City decision, Calgarians deserve to know. Calgary has grown up as a city, and it's time our transparency rules caught up. That's why, with Councillors Atkinson, Clark, and Schmidt, we are bringing forward a motion to pursue a lobbyist registry.
Ten days, one city and millions of moments that remind us what makes this place so special. The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth isn't just an event - it's the feeling of coming together. Because we truly are Greatest together ❤️
Thank you, Mayor Farkas, for hosting us at the greatest outdoor show on earth in your city. The Calgary Stampede puts the spotlight on Calgary and its surrounding region and provided a great opportunity to discuss how regional cooperation can help build this province.
Alberta separation would devastate our energy industry, kill investment and put thousands of jobs at risk. It is economic self-sabotage. Calgary has too much at stake for its leaders to sit quietly on the sidelines. Our future is bigger, stronger and more prosperous in a united Canada
Joined Calgary Meals on Wheels @MealsOnWheelsca for their Stampede BBQ this week in my riding of Calgary-Peigan and spent time with the volunteers, supporters and community members who make this organization such an important part of our city.
It was also good to see Mayor Jeromy Farkas @JeromyYYC there and connect with so many Calgarians enjoying the afternoon.
Organizations like Calgary Meals on Wheels remind us that strong communities don't happen by accident. They're built by people willing to give their time, look out for their neighbours and lend a helping hand when it's needed most. Thank you to everyone who continues to step up and serve others through this important work.
