Last night, Cape May Mayor Zack Mullock stood on a debate stage and denied accepting $500,000 tied to Ørsted’s offshore wind industry.

THERE’S ONE BIG PROBLEM, MAYOR MULLOCK. YOUR OWN CITY’S DOCUMENTS TELL A DIFFERENT STORY!

While commercial fishermen, fishing businesses, and coastal communities were fighting Ørsted’s industrialization of our oceans, Cape May Mayor Zack Mullock’s administration was pursuing HALF A MILLION DOLLARS from an Ørsted-funded trust tied to the very offshore wind industry these communities spent years opposing.

Let’s not forget what’s at stake. Cape May/Wildwood is New Jersey’s largest commercial fishing port and ranks among the largest on the Eastern Seaboard. Commercial fishing is Cape May County’s second-largest industry in economic impact, supporting thousands of jobs and generating hundreds of millions of dollars in economic activity.

Our fishing industry is the backbone of countless local businesses, from fishing vessels and seafood processors to restaurants and the many businesses that depend on them.

For the commercial fishing families and coastal residents who spent years fighting to protect their livelihoods, Mayor Mullock’s acceptance of funding from an Ørsted funded trust is deeply disturbing.

Orsted aka Dong ( Danish Oil & Natural Gas) is owned by the Kingdom of Denmark. 🇩🇰

The public deserves transparency about decisions affecting our fishing industry, livelihoods, and coastal communities.
