@RexxyPlus@_greywithin Real early on Nolan says if prepared a Viltrumite can hold their breath for weeks. I'd have to pull out my books again, but being prepared and not getting caught off guard really seems like the important distinction.
@tuuu28283 There's a common saying, "It costs nothing to be kind". We're all just people trying to make it through the day, what purpose do I have to be mean to people?
@RepGesAuto_NieR Libertarianism is a great way to put it. Many people believe that the only way to guarantee the preservation of media is to allow the user to archive it. Square themselves has lost the source code for several games in the past, while games like DOOM are accessible by anyone.
@makoto_sanda@Watarai_Kou Also, I mean no offense I just realized who you are, so I will give another example. Fate Stay Night did not have an official translation until 2 years ago. We had access to almost all of the spin offs, however, we had to use a fan translation of the original source for years.
@makoto_sanda@Watarai_Kou Many of us grew up with Square as a normal house held name. Final Fantasy 1, 4, 6 were all released here and are very well regarded. They were so beloved that when Final Fantasy 2, 3, and 5 were not released that fan translations were made and tons of people played them.
@pepiruperupiru@Tereta_Orcmon Honestly from what I've seen, people will lie about their participation in such things. To say you don't support piracy in anyway whatsoever but then turn around and play on a Phantasy Star Online fan server or an unofficial fan translation.
@chiroru27343109@cybersteel0987 One of the founders of our country, Thomas Jefferson once said "If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.". Civil disobedience for justice is a very deep rooted concept in America.
@MischiefsYT@MasterBeef93 Man, I don't even know anymore. The Obsidian everyone liked made their last game in 2018, and it sold poorly. So new Obsidian just kind of makes whatever bland game you can look at and go, "Yeah that's a game."
@MischiefsYT@MasterBeef93 In tabletop rpg terms it means to use your outside game knowledge to affect your actions. So you're not really playing the role you're supposed to.
