November is National Veterans and Military Families Month!
The Nevada Department of Education proudly honors our veterans, service members, and military families.
Thanks to the military-connected students, educators, and families across Nevada who enrich our school communities.
The #TateTigers welcomed the NECTA Student Teachers to our campus today! @ClarkCountySch has a bright future with these Eagles soaring toward a career in education!
Our 4th grade teachers and specialists are collaborating today to make connections between the IB planners and each special. @PiggottAcademy@ClarkCountySch@CCSDMagnet
Mrs. Ali Jun, a music teacher at Tyrone Thompson Elementary was just surprised with the award of Nevada Teacher of the Year. She is being honored by her principal, colleagues, students, governor, CCSD Supt, state Supt, and other district and state leaders. @News3LV
While most @ClarkCountySch staff members head home at the end of the day, we have 25 staff members who provide 10 hours of afterschool enrichment and tutoring a week for 250 #TateTigers with #21stCLCC funding! ROAR On!
Just like we have blocks of small group learning for our #TateTigers, we provide small group PD for our @ClarkCountySch teachers and support staff! More engagement, differentiation, and an opportunity to ask questions. ROAR ON!
Shoutout to our facilities team and maintenance crews!
Our techs are working hard to make sure our students and staff are comfortable in this desert heat ☀️.
Our very own Principal @DavidHudzick from Clarence A. Piggott Academy was on an episode of Access City Council! Check out the episode here: https://t.co/nF3TFvAf6Z

To Every Teacher About to Begin Again…
There’s something sacred about this time of year.
The world doesn’t pause for it—but we do. We tidy up rooms, rework bulletin boards, restock our desk drawers with things no one else even notices… all for the sake of what’s coming. And what’s coming isn’t just students—it’s opportunity. It’s impact. It’s legacy.
And whether you feel ready or not, you’re about to become part of someone’s story again.
It might not be obvious at first. The kid who won’t look up. The one who sighs every time you speak. The one who walks in carrying a world you’ll never fully understand. But here’s the truth: your consistency will matter more than your content. Your tone will matter more than your title. And your presence will matter more than your perfection ever could.
Every year, I remind teachers of this: You are not the system. You are the exception to it.
You’re the one who turns test-takers into risk-takers. Who sees the child before the checklist. Who shows up—even when it feels like no one notices you do.
And if this year feels heavy, don’t forget—some kids are walking through your doors needing one adult to believe in them. Just one. Not because you have all the answers, but because you looked them in the eye and said, “I see something in you.” And meant it.
That’s the kind of teaching that outlasts standards. The kind that can’t be measured… but will never be forgotten.
So as you step into a new year, remember this:
You don’t need to be perfect. Just present.
You don’t need a magic lesson. Just a moment that makes a kid feel seen.
You don’t need to save the world. Just reach the one in front of you.
Because that’s how the world changes anyway.
Thank you—for everything you give to children who aren’t even your own. The world doesn’t thank you nearly enough. But I see you. And I’m grateful.
Let’s go make it count.

Today, Tyrone Thompson ES celebrated 51 kids who read 1,000,000 this year! We even had one student over 7,000,000! After posing on stage and walking the red carpet, went to play mini golf + have lunch at Town Square. Nothing better than celebrating kids’ success!
🌟FCCLA was in Reno showing off their skills they have been working all year on perfecting. These kids worked very hard on their different events. Well, their hard work paid off! We are bringing home 8 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. We're so proud of you! 🙌
