this story begins on december 25, 2018.

one day in 2018, while sitting in a stopped car, my chest suddenly felt suffocated for no reason.
it was an ordinary day, no different from usual, but that day, my emotions were different.
i don’t remember exactly, but i think emotions like anxiety, anger, and a sense of being wronged all came rushing in at once.

my eyes slowly closed. i fell asleep just like that, and strangely enough, i felt at peace.
at least while i was asleep, i could forget those feelings, so i began spending my time relying on sleep.

then, suddenly, this thought came to me.

‘am i avoiding things right now.’

and with that thought came the feeling that i didn’t want to live like this.
from then on, rather than avoiding things, i decided to face them head-on.
there were days when i fell apart, and there were days when i picked myself back up.
that’s how i lived, one day at a time.

as i went through that time, one thing became clear.
i could no longer easily speak about the feelings of people who experience the same emotions as i do.

there’s nothing easy about life. still, we have to keep living.
not because we lack the courage to die.
i want to believe that we live so that, while we’re alive, we can have even a little less to regret.

this album is the story of how i’ve lived from december 25, 2018, until now.
and i hope that, for someone, it can become a small message saying, ‘we can also keep living while facing these feelings.’

we can do it.

if falling apart is the purpose of these emotions,
then i don’t intend to let them defeat me until the very end.
perhaps because i’m someone who has always disliked losing easily,
simply accepting defeat without a fight just isn’t in my nature.

so today, too, i’ll try living.

this is what simply living is like.
