My speech: 'The Personal Cost of Advocacy' describes my experiences raising concerns about the medical scandal of gender interventions for children, whilst also desperately trying to protect my job, registration and family. I'd love to see a reality TV show giving other psychiatrists that challenge to face. @jk_rowling
NEW bonus episode! 🏳️⚧️🇦🇺
Last week, child psychiatrist Dr Jillian Spencer won her legal battle against her former employer, while Ahpra dropped its investigation into her. Both cases related to Dr Spencer’s concerns about transgender medicine for children. https://t.co/ON0gU7J1G3
My interview on Sky today: Now that an Australian tertiary children's hospital has publicly stated that gender medicine is an area of legitimate public and profession debate, @Ahpra must lift the restrictions on Dr Andrew Amos that prevent him working as a psychiatrist and ban him from posting on social media about gender. @Mark_Butler_MP@AlboMP@AngusTaylorMP@PaulineHansonOz@TimNichollsMP
During my career, I’ve never had a male colleague put his arm around my shoulders and pull me closer to talk to me. In a professional context, men are very careful to display chivalry - they open doors for you, let you out of the lift first etc. So I understand why this was a shock @MoiraDeemingMP. He must have been drunk. I hope both he and you can get on with taking power in Victoria and closing the Royal Children’s Hospital Gender Service.

VINDICATED: A huge win for children, evidence-based medicine and @Jilliantweeting 👏♥️🥳
After years of being sidelined for raising concerns about the medicalisation of vulnerable young people, Dr Jillian Spencer has been cleared by Queensland Children's Hospital, which has acknowledged that her concerns were professionally grounded and that these issues are matters of legitimate clinical debate.
I hope other health professionals take courage from this remarkable woman, so we can end the youth gender medicine scandal once and for all.

My message to the child psychiatrists and paediatricians working in Australian children's hospitals where children with gender distress are being affirmed and transitioned: In the face of a medical scandal, there is no honour in keeping quiet. @Mark_Butler_MP@AlboMP@AngusTaylorMP@PaulineHansonOz
Listen to @Ahpra’s CEO response here to:
‘Does a health practitioner have a right to refer to a person’s biological sex?’
Also, can Mr Untersteiner answer a question without rudely casting aspersions about Dr Amos? No.
Thank you @MRobertsQLD@Mark_Butler_MP@AlboMP@PaulineHansonOz@AngusTaylorMP
Senator Malcolm Roberts questions AHPRA CEO Justin Untersteiner during the Senate Estimates hearing on 3 June 2026.
Senator Roberts pressed the regulator on key issues of impartiality, potential conflicts of interest, and AHPRA’s core duty to protect the public — rather than enforce ideological conformity.
Thank you, @MRobertsQLD for raising these important questions about accountability and the proper role of our health regulator.

Watch the CEO of @Ahpra Justin Untersteiner cast aspersions that there is 'more to the story than has been reported' of why Dr Andrew Amos has had his medical registration restricted for three social media posts about gender. This is outrageous. Then he hides behind, "I can't discuss individual cases". He owes Dr Amos a public apology.
Thank you to @SenSHenderson for questioning Ahpra about our cases.
