Mavs beat the Heat last night
Bucks beat the Magic last night
If the Sixers & Pacers both win their last 2 games (Magic & Nets for Philly) we lock the 6 seed
After everything we went through this year, the best possible path could actually be put in place. Unbelievable. LFG.
JOEL EMBIID UPDATE:
Per my prior posts and my recommendations, it appears Joel Embiid will be having arthroscopic surgery to deal with his “flap tear” lateral meniscus. Correct move as those types of tears will not heal and will worsen over time (especially in big guy with repetitive high-impact loading and off-balance landings) necessitating even more meniscal removal (not good for knee in the long run) in the future. Only thing I don’t understand is Sixers saying he will be out “extended” period of time. IF meniscus is trimmed and flap removed (20+ minute procedure thru tiny incisions) then recovery will usually be relatively quick (average 6-8 weeks, some sooner, some longer— I would hope 4-6 weeks especially if he works hard AND maintains conditioning during recovery). IF HOWEVER, meniscus is REPAIRED/stitched (NOT usually the case with flap tears, and something I would not typically recommend) then recovery would be prolonged (meniscus is slow healer and no running for 4 months) and meniscus sometimes doesn’t even heal. So hopefully a quick trim (not repair/stitch) with a speedy, and not “extended” recovery! Stay tuned…
