Technology is not an inevitable force that happens to society—we have agency. We can decide what future we want and leverage technology to serve humanity.
It’s a privilege to be included in the 2026 Responsible Tech Guide, alongside 15 brilliant peers inspiring & leading change.
Grateful to @AllTechIsHuman for once again elevating the voices in responsible tech. Our shared responsibility is to make sure AI reflects the best of us.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an important and meaningful discussion in Nairobi at the Faith-AI Covenant roundtable this week.
Your voices really matter & I look forward to building on this important conversation together. Grateful to Ambassador @pthigo, @GenevaArigatou, @QhalaHQ & the Precognition and @Interfaith_ASC teams for bringing the Nairobi roundtable together. 💛
@pthigo Thank you Ambassador @pthigo for your leadership & thoughtful contribution to our Nairobi roundtable. I’m especially grateful for Kenya’s commitment to putting children’s rights, dignity & wellbeing at the heart of the AI conversation. I look forward to working together.
Faith, AI and the Future of Our Children
I was privileged to deliver remarks and join a group discussion at the Faith-AI Covenant Roundtable in Nairobi, convened by Dana Humaid, Chief Executive of the Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities (IAFSC), and Baroness Joanna Shields OBE, CEO of Precognition, bringing together faith leaders, technology companies, policymakers, researchers and civil society.
Our conversations explored how AI is shaping young people's identity, values, and sense of belonging, including the risks of radicalization, and its implications for children's learning, emotional development, and wellbeing.
I emphasized human dignity, agency and shared responsibility. Human agency must be preserved not only in how AI is used, but also in how it is designed and developed, with safeguards embedded from the outset. This connects directly with Kenya's work through the Coalition for Children's Rights and Protection in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, advancing both opportunities and protection for children.
My appreciation to Dana, Joanna and all participants for an enriching dialogue, building on New York and Paris, and bringing African perspectives to the Covenant ahead of its planned launch in Abu Dhabi in 2027.

AI is increasingly shaping how children learn, create & connect. The opportunity is significant, but so are the questions around safety, agency & privacy.
@wef’s new report sets out practical steps for building child safety across the #AI lifecycle.

I was invited to address the @UN Security Council this afternoon to discuss the unprecedented threat posed by uncontrolled frontier AI agents.
Humanity has summoned the courage and wisdom to manage catastrophic risks before. This is one of those moments, far bigger than any personal, commercial, or national interest. The choices we make about this technology today will shape generations to come. We must act now.
A timely reminder from my friend @zeynep Tufekci that as AI becomes more capable, human judgment, curiosity and the ability to question the results matter more than ever.

The UK still has time to act on #AISovereignty, but the window is closing.
In the UK House of Lords recently, I called for a special inquiry into AI Power and Sovereignty.
We shouldn't wait until access is withdrawn to find out what it was worth.
Encouraging to see @OpenAI taking meaningful steps to make AI safer and more age-appropriate for young people.
Building safety into the technology from the outset is essential, and progress like this matters.

The decisions that will shape the balance of power in the AI era are being made now. That is why I called for a Special Inquiry on Artificial Intelligence, Power and Sovereignty in 2027, and why I believe AI sovereignty should be a core pillar of Britain's G20 Presidency. #AI
AI is changing the architecture of power. Today I spoke in the @UKHouseofLords Debate on the 'Impact of digital & technology policy on national sovereignty', calling for a Special Inquiry into AI, Power & Sovereignty, and for #AI to be a core pillar of Britain's #G20 Presidency.
I argued Britain must understand where sovereignty resides across the AI technology stack & where we can genuinely lead by securing our data, building #sovereigncapability & strengthening the application and governance layers that determine how AI is deployed across our economy.
AI is reshaping what billions believe, who they trust, & how they understand the world at unprecedented speed. In Paris last week, the Faith–AI Covenant brought together leaders from @OpenAI, @Google, @AnthropicAI & faith leaders from across Europe.
