If you want to understand the culture that allowed Murrell to get away with embezzlement for more than a decade while donors to the ring fenced indyref fund were duped, the Audible version of my book Keeping the Dream Alive (read by me) is now available👇 https://t.co/10Ds44SsqX
“I got abusively attacked by a councillor… and then they all piled in on the [zoom] chat, including the First Minister, who said to him “Well said, Ian”.
“After that, she came in, which is the video people have seen, and it felt very threatening to me personally”
This half hour interview with @theSNP whistleblowers whose warnings about Murrell’s skulduggery were ignored is compulsive viewing. It details the bullying they endured & the empty assurances given to party members, public & the press. This is why we need an independent inquiry.
EXCL: Whistleblowers reveal bullying by Nicola Sturgeon & SNP chiefs after they sounded alarm on her crooked hubby & party’s murky finances. The vilified women say Sturgeon & John Swinney's fingers-in-ears attitude enabled Peter Murrell's fraud. Watch here https://t.co/5hxME3Drv0

I was present at this meeting & can vouch for the fact that every single word of this is true. I’m glad Allison and Cynthia have been able to speak up. They are both brave women of the utmost integrity. Had their warnings been heeded Murrell’s crime spree could’ve been stopped
'The SNP and Nicola Sturgeon insist they knew nothing of Murrell’s offending. That may be enough for the criminal law. But politically, they have questions to answer here, too. How on earth did Murrell manage to get away with this for so long?
'A leaked video from a meeting of the SNP ruling body in 2021 shows Ms Sturgeon dismiss questions over financial irregularities or mismanagement. She tells members they should be careful about raising the issues because it could deter donors from giving money to the party.' || Deputy Political Editor Rebecca McCurdy 👇

Still time for EIBF to add @ForWomenScot to their (currently unbalanced) platform on sex in the law. It would mean they’d have somebody there who had actually been involved in the prisons case (and have written a book chapter).
I know.
But occasionally we should mention it.
“Integrity matters”. Yes it does and public life in Scotland needs more people of the calibre of Allison, Cynthia & Frank. The SNP leadership past & present & their cronies owe them & all the whistleblowers who warned of problems with financial scrutiny in the party an apology.
Another woman-hater who taunted us for fighting to preserve our rights in the face of the failed policy of self ID turns out to be a sex offender & domestic abuser. No more sneering at feminists from Iain while compèring SNP award ceremonies unless they’re happening behind bars…
Cops and prosecutors have confirmed they DID have evidence against Nicola Sturgeon and asked for advice on whether to charge her – despite the former SNP leader’s claims they found nothing.

It took 12 years, huge amounts of patient work by many people, mainly women, media attention, ultimately a court case and, most always unforgiveably, countless women prisoners being used as collateral damage.
But the 'strategising' ends here today.
Scottish government has confirmed it will not appeal the For Women Scotland court judgement on housing transgender prisoners.
Movement of prisoners is expected to start imminently.
What an incredible achievement by @ForWomenScot. Is it too much to hope that this is the start of the new SNP Government finally accepting that the decision of the Supreme Court must be reflected across Scottish society?
🧵Ten years ago England & Wales but not Scotland voted to leave the EU - a material change of circumstances justifying a 2nd independence referendum. The SNP squandered the many opportunities to advance matters that followed & Murrell stole the money raised to fund indyref2. 1/3
