I want everyone here to know how this man, Professor Hurn, was one of the very few gems of my law school years who guided me to calm shores from troubling waters. I now and will miss him dearly.
We are saddened to announce the passing of Professor Marcus Hurn. He defined the spirit of this law school, principled and pioneering, community-oriented, bold and brilliant. We have set up a Facebook group where you can share stories or write a tribute: https://t.co/J1aXnGs7nL

Saad Hariri, who resigned as prime minister in the face of mass protests 1 year ago (-1 week) wins thin majority (64/120) of Lebanese MPs to become PM again. Majority depends on Amal MPs so more compromises required (or already made) on government formation.

Note to self: As nearby Syria was deteriorating from civil war, neighboring Lebanon's scheme of high interest-rate banks became even more likely to crumble. And now, the wounds of Lebanon's problems are even more visible following the Beirut explosion.
Note to self #2: Collaboration, rather than competition, is needed now. Had Syria been collaborating rather than invading and showing greed, and had Lebanon's politics gotten rid of competitive government sects earlier on, perhaps the region would have had better stories to share
