@elonmusk And the new party doesn't to raise billions of dollars to have the impact of extremist superpacs--we can caucus and agree to vote as a block, in both primaries and general elections.
@elonmusk Not a new political party; a *virtual* party with clear values shared by much of that 80%. Leave the world better than you found it. Use empirical data. Promote common-sense capitalism.
@execguy312@PhilOnEdTech This is more like Tesla trying to cut subsidies of ICE cars--we built Noodle's model to align to public policy, and have waited for the policies to catch up. It's about ethics, not motives
I am excited to join the @NoodleEducation team, and, in particular, to work with #EdTech pioneer @johnkatzman. Noodle is truly a unique offering in the OPM space - more transparent, more flexible, more collaborative - and a perfect fit for my passion for innovation in #highered.
@FiveThirtyEight Have you (or anyone) correlated COVID death rates with voting in the last election, at the precinct level? Might add some data to the debate over efficacy of various approaches to vaccines, masks, etc.
@Trace_Urdan Trace, you are misinformed about Noodle's position on the Senate OPM inquiry. We do not think it should or will eliminate revenue share, for example. But OPMs need to be far more transparent, and we should end subsidizing marketing spend in higher ed.
@Trace_Urdan This all is 50% true, Trace. The opacity of the OPM model creates all sorts of weird incentives. AP makes millions by spending very little on its programs, for example. Rather than simply defend or attack, let's make the model transparent and accountable. :)
Good report. It's hard to measure K12 Edtech's cost or impact–just like the rest of K12. If we take an approach to data that is less about accountability and more about research, we could learn so much about what works.
How much does the U.S. spend on #edtech? The short answer: we don’t know. The long answer: it’s at least double what we thought. And that should startle us. https://t.co/FnvgFgcpcs #ContextMatters
Watching the #nea-conservatives get rid of COVID safeguards. Meanwhile, though, why aren't we doing a re vs blue state olympics in such things as vaccine distribution?
Confused. We can J&J vaccinate every teacher, administrator, and staff member working in a school this weekend. Why not do that and reopen schools by the ides of March?
A bit tired of people saying that can create an excellent online college course for under $25,000. They can say it only because the metrics are difficult and no one is keeping score. Accepting or ignoring this nonsense keeps us from collaborating on actual solutions.
@Trace_Urdan @CNyren@pmfreedm@tdretler First, it's not only about money. Second, this may well not be as friendly an administration to some in ed tech, Trace, but being a friend to this administration means being an enemy to our students, employees, and school partners.
