It truly makes me want to smash my head in with a hammer that the two best players on the Yankees right now grew up in Massachusetts and went to college in New England
In the Boston context, it's awesome to have @LouMerloni speak to a national audience about the ups and downs of the Red Sox season in a level of detail and nuance that's hard to replicate in a national broadcast
I've loved the NBC broadcast with Jason Benetti all season, but the format of using color commentators familiar with the local teams is awesome in the postseason.
They provide detail and context that's hard to match, especially in the highest-pressure moments of the season.
Masterful performance by Cam Schlittler.
Basically went the complete opposite of the scouting report by pounding the curveball down all night, and it didn't matter at all. Red Sox couldn't adjust.
The Boston native pitching for the Yankees and dominating the Red Sox, and Roman Anthony getting pinch hit for in his first playoff game.
Vibes could not be worse.
🚨 MAJOR BREAKING: Premier League confirm an independent Commission has found Manchester City GUILTY OF ALL CHARGES related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules over a nine-season period, and the majority of charges in relation to its failure to co-operate with the League’s investigation.
The club has the right to appeal the independent Commission’s findings and has until Friday 2 October to exercise that right.
The Premier League Board’s intention is that the full process (including any appeals and publication of relevant decisions) is concluded as soon as possible.
The independent Commission found that between Seasons 2009/10 and 2017/18:
- Manchester City arranged ‘sham’ contracts (which misrepresented the true agreement between the parties) with a number of its commercial partners, as well as relying on ‘sham’ agreements with others, to artificially inflate the club’s revenues and reduce its costs
- The club filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from its auditors and football regulators
- Manchester City was significantly in breach of both the Premier League’s and UEFA’s spending limits
- During the Premier League’s investigation, Manchester City committed multiple breaches of its duties of co-operation and utmost good faith towards the League (three of the four alleged breaches were upheld)

Cam Schlittler literally has a movie origin story, growing up a Red Sox fan, son of a local Boston police chief, becomes the ace of the arch-rival Yankees.
One of the most entertaining stories in sports.
Cam Schlittler on Red Sox fans trolling him online, via @BrendanKutyN:
“(You’d) think after last time, how much they were talking before, that they might be trying to quiet it down a little bit… Like, they use me for clicks or whatever it is, and I feel like I’ve done a good job of handling that so far.”
Game 1 will be CINEMA.
Jalen: "Questions?"
OG: "Remember in Game 4 when you took that shot in the end and you missed it?"
Jalen: "Yeah"
OG: "Remember what happened after?"
Jalen: "Yeah. You tipped it in"
OG: "Oh yeah. That was awesome"
