Washington is a construction zone. Signs throughout proclaim, “We are making DC safe and beautiful.” It may be relatively safe, but much of it certainly isn’t beautiful.

scoop: US Trade Ambassador Jamieson Greer tells me in an interview that the US is deciding not to renew the USMCA trade agreement, instead entering rolling talks with Canada and Mexico for up to ten years
@TheTerminal got it first
The pictured plan here would take the golf course at East Potomac all the way out to the shoreline, eliminating the road and bike path around the perimeter, as well as the open recreational area at Hains Point.
I'm honored to be elected president of the @whca for 2028–2029.
I look forward to serving my colleagues across the White House press corps to ensure robust and independent coverage of the presidency.
I’m excited to build on the strengths of the association, including our shared commitment to a free and fair press.
Congratulations to Courtney Subramanian, @cmsub,

The state of play on USMCA: The July 1 renewal almost certainly won't happen, sources say, which sets up rolling annual reviews and an extended period of uncertainty as the US negotiates side deals with Canada and Mexico. Story with @josh_wingrove https://t.co/EJTCjOnObX
(Bloomberg) -- Deutsche Bank AG was forced to move attendees at a London financial conference after a partial ceiling collapse disrupted lunch and a keynote address by Arsenal Football Club manager Mikel Arteta.
DEEP DIVE: The Trump administration is escalating efforts to unmask anonymous online critics, sending grand jury subpoenas to social media companies for their information. A court fight has been playing out in sealed proceedings in DC.

You have to grudgingly respect that Fazio isn't even pretending that his version of East Potomac will "incorporate themes of the original Walter J. Travis design," as the press release from the Trump administration claimed it would.
He's just like, "Nope, Walter Travis was an idiot, I'm blowing it all up."

President Donald Trump’s latest financial disclosures show that he made a slew of stock and bond purchases with major American companies in the first quarter of the year totaling in the tens of millions of dollars, and possibly more. https://t.co/wODbEN2uTh

This design bears virtually no resemblance to the current East Potomac Golf Links, which dates back to the 1920s, and appears to eliminate the current White executive nine and the Red Par 3 courses, the latter of which appears to be replaced by another short course on land currently occupied by the white. It does appear to keep Ohio Drive and some parkland at Hains Point, unlike previous renderings.
Excited to unveil the design for the East Potomac Golf Links renovation from Fazio Design.
Like iconic public courses of Bethpage Black & Torrey Pines, East Potomac will offer locals—of the National Capital Region—championship-quality golf at affordable, highly discounted rates.
Playing over 7600 yards at the tips East Potomac will be longer than many PGA championship courses (South Course at Torrey Pines is 7765, Augusta is 7545 yds, TPC Sawgrass is 7185)
