I think you are reading into religion too much. The Torah is the word of God and the law of Judaism. Think of it like the US Constitution. It is the basic laws and tenets. The Talmud is the written opinions of scholarly Rabbis who have studied the Torah on how they interpret the laws. It’s the same as published case law interpretations of the Constitution. Now as long as you stay within the basic boundaries; a large majority is unaffected by the Talmud (the same with US law.)
It really depends upon how religious one is as to how the laws of any religion affect you. BTW, Jesus is not mentioned in the Talmud. There’s theories by zealots who think he is referred to by one name or other names but there no definitive proof. You believe what you want and grab ahold of whatever “proof” you think justifies your beliefs (or make it up) to satisfy yourself.

It’s like your friend with the andrenochrome obsession. She’s read too much into Hunter S Thompson’s book and political crazy websites who need to debase others to make themselves seem justified.

Thank you @Jebadoo2 for highlighting the risk of the Conversion Practices draft bill on parents - not merely in the criminal courts but in family court too.

There has been so far no attempt to calculate the financial impact of this. The emotional impact of course will be vast and cannot be measured in money.

There are 339 local authorities in England and Wales with a statutory duty to bring care proceedings when child at risk of significant harm. Parents are represented separately in these proceedings and get automatic legal aid. The child also has a Guardian and a lawyer, again paid by legal aid.

Care proceedings are supposed to finish in 6 months but many don’t. There will be at least three court hearings, if a contested final hearing is needed that could be anything between 3 - 25 days.

It is also possible to remove children on an interim basis if the harm is sufficiently serious. If there are no family members willing or able to take in the children, foster care or residential care is needed, at enormous cost and in the face of a nationwide crisis in lack of foster carers.

Let’s say each LA gets about five new cases a year if this bill becomes law. It could of course be a lot more. That’s 1,695 new sets of care proceedings. 5,086 adults to be funded through six months or more of legal proceedings.

Say 20% of those involve 2 children being removed at interim stage - complainant child and a younger sibling. That’s 339 children requiring alternative care.

This is huge. The Government better get its calculator out.
