The interment camps your family experienced didn’t happen to Germans or Italians in America, because it was all about race. This needs to be taught more and with it a genuine reflection on how our structure allowed it to happen.

Anyway, my original point still stands: CRT doesn’t promote bigotry. Just asks us to review our perspective on race and consider it’s impact.

@Ray_Misuto @KatyJoh45696242 @TravisAllen02 Additionally, bigotry is not a US construct and any student who passed history of civ 1 knows slavery existed elsewhere. The differences stem from how specific our version of slavery was tied to race and how structural inequities still exist as a result.

And that’s not even taking into account that slavery in the US predated the Democratic Party by 200 year.

No one will achieve equality through vengeance, but if we acknowledge racism has had on our society, we can start to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

But refusing to acknowledge that a house has been built upon a poor foundation doesn’t mean it won’t crumble. Take action to address it, then move on.

I understand WE did not necessarily cause the atrocities you listed, but we also cannot be obtuse in recognizing their impact on modern day society.

Back to my first point, my interpretation is that this theory asks that we hold a mirror to ourselves and recognize what we are. A multicultural society that has had an exploitative and often racist history. Then, we do better

@Ray_Misuto @KatyJoh45696242 @TravisAllen02 I can see how CRT might be a weaponized for political gain, but I disagree with the idea the theory seeks vengeance or hatred. Simply recognizing racial inequalities within USA’s history is a nice starting point. Most of us dream of a post-racial society, but we aren’t there yet.

@214Texan @TravisAllen02 Sex= male or female. Sexuality= however consenting adults choose to express themselves sexually. Gender= social construct that is often based on sex (see above), but doesn’t have to be.
