We should take what happened to Palestine as a lesson. The early we revolt against Israeli settlement in our country the better it is for us and our future generations
I'm learning a lot from the experiences/stories on the TL that have emerged in the aftermath of the gang rape in Laare.
Often, when we speak of *rape culture* in Kenya, people claim it's an exaggeration to call rape a "culture", and yet here it is in plain speak for us to see.
There’s this thing religious people do that doesn't sits right with me. Turning someone else’s suffering into a gratitude lesson is insensitive. Thanking God for your life in the same breath as describing a person who is dying is crazy.
Unpopular opinion that might ruffle feathers: parental ‘sacrifice’ is a myth. A child’s wellbeing is a parent’s responsibility, not a favour. Any sacrifice is yours to bear, not theirs to repay. Raise them fully cognizant of your challenges but know that it’s duty, not charity.
This is Jackline Ruguru
She was 22years and a student at Embu College.
Jackline left home to buy lotion at their shopping centre, when she didn't return home her family tried her number and it was picked but no one spoke. Yesterday her body was found , she had been raped, mutilated - her arm missing and her face doused in acid and murdered. Her body was dumped in a coffee farm in Gichugu, Kirinyaga
In 2017, Jane Wanjiru 45years a headteacher of Githure Primary was raped and hacked to death in her bathroom.
Neither of their killers have been found
This is Femicide
Jackline Ruguru 🥀🥀🥀 we remember you
Jane Wanjiru 🥀🥀🥀 We speak your name
Femicide happens when Gender Based Violence is left unchecked. When we report and perpetrators are left to go Scott Free. When GBV is normalized and seen to be of no consequences and society is okay with it. It's about women being murdered by the very people who are supposed to love and protect them.
In this 16Days of Activism, we remember that Femicide is a crisis in Kenya. We ask the government to open a Data register on these cases.

Poverty in Africa is not natural - it's engineered.
No continent sitting on gold, diamonds, oil, uranium, and fertile land should have starving children.
That's not "God's will," it's economic warfare.
A pedophile was NOT possessed by the devil.
A rapist was NOT possessed by the devil.
A rapist was NOT lacking self control.
A pedophile is NOT mentally unstable.
These actions were conscious, calculated and done by HUMAN MALES.
It’s funny how “competence” only enters the chat when women are being discussed.
When it’s men, mediocrity is tolerated, even glorified. Senile men are even presidents.
But mention women in leadership, and suddenly everyone turns into an HR manager demanding proof of merit🙄
I hate this question. First of all rape is never about attraction. Corpses are being raped as well. Babies as well
Often, these humans force themselves on animals.
Rape is about power and control. It's about dominion and intentionally harming someone.
A quick search shows she's an advisor to the president on Women Rights.
She is the one who oversaw the worst Femicide in post-independence Kenya.
She advised the president on the termination of Linda Mama.
How she is a heroine, I don't know.
