As part of preventive measures to maintain public peace and curb criminal activities in the Rajendranagar Zone, Attapur Police produced 13 rowdy sheeters before the Executive Magistrate, Sri S. Srinivas, IPS, DCP Rajendranagar Zone, and bound them over for good behaviour.
The action was taken against identified offenders with a history of involvement in unlawful activities to prevent any breach of peace and ensure public safety. The Rajendranagar Zone Police have reiterated that strict surveillance is being maintained over anti-social elements and history sheeters. Any violation of bind-over conditions or attempts to disturb public order will attract stringent legal action.

The Telangana Human Rights Commission, vide HRC No. 2047/2026 dated 19-05-2026, recommended that the ACP, Tolichowki Division, examine the grievance and direct the concerned police to take necessary action. The Hyderabad City Traffic Police, during enforcement checks, detected the misuse of a fake vehicle registration number plate and shared the information with Banjara Hills Police, Hyderabad City, leading to the registration of a criminal case and apprehension of the accused, GAIKWAD NAVANATH (40), resident of Gokulnagar, Mallepally, Hyderabad.
Investigation revealed that the accused had affixed fake Registration No. AP11AA6077 to his Hero Passion Plus motorcycle with an intention to evade traffic violation challans and mislead enforcement authorities. Due to the misuse of the fake number plate, traffic challans were wrongly generated against the genuine owner of vehicle No. AP11AA6077 (Honda Shine), Mr. Vikky Paswan of Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 434/2026 was registered at Banjara Hills Police Station under Sections 318(4) BNS and 192(1) r/w 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Notice under Section 35(3) BNSS was issued to the accused and further investigation is in progress to ascertain the original registration details of the vehicle used.
Hyderabad Traffic Police cautioned the public that the use of fake, identical, or tampered number plates is a serious punishable offence and strict action will be taken against violators. Advanced surveillance systems including CCTV and ANPR cameras are being effectively used to identify such offences.

Several persons were injured and vehicles damaged after clashes and stone pelting erupted in Gudimalkapur over suspected cattle transportation. Police resorted to lathi charge, while AIMIM @Md_MajidHussain demanded action against the attackers. AIMIM Nampally MLA Majid Hussain Merajstaged a sit-in protest in front of the DCP (Golconda), demanding action against the persons who damaged the truck and assaulted the driver and cleaner. Traffic diversions announced on Uppal Ring Road from May 17
Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation has announced traffic diversions on Uppal Ring Road from May 17 due to corridor works. The road towards Warangal will be closed, with alternative routes issued for commuters and heavy vehicles advised to use the Outer Ring Road via Hayathnagar.

Thunderstorm forecast in nine Telangana districts todayThe India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm forecast in nine Telangana districts for Sunday (May 17).
According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.
Hyderabad and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see a partly cloudy sky. “Hazy conditions are likely to prevail during morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 41C and 29C respectively,” the bulletin said.
