⚡️ I welcome Prime Minister Andy Burnham's decision to remove VAT from domestic electricity bills from 1 October, helping to ease the cost of living.

The Government estimates this will cut the average annual electricity bill by around £45.

It has been the privilege of my life to serve as the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

The economy today is stronger, fairer and more resilient because of the choices we have taken as a Labour Government over the past two years.

The Hillsborough Law has cleared the Commons.

I remembered Ellesmere Port's Christopher Edwards, James Delaney & Jimmy Hennessy, three of the 97 unlawfully killed at Hillsborough.

This law will help ensure no bereaved family has to fight for the truth again.
