For all of us who care deeply about the future of education, start by understanding what our youngest learners need. 🎧 I highly recommend listening to this conversation with Kari Stubbs, PhD on the Dr. M’s Women and Children First Podcast.

One of the most important reminders: children under age five are not simply smaller versions of older students. Their brains (and eyes) are developing at an extraordinary pace, and what they need most is learning designed for this unique stage of development.

That means rich language and conversation. Play and exploration. Movement and sensory experiences. #Curiosity. Secure relationships with caring adults. And opportunities to interact with the real world, not simply more content delivered through a screen.

As #AI and emerging technologies rapidly reshape education, we need to be equally intentional about understanding when technology adds value and when human interaction, physical exploration, and play are the better learning tools.

Innovation in education is not about introducing #technology earlier, it’s knowing when it is developmentally appropriate and only integrated with intention. It’s about using what we know about brain development to give children the experiences they need at the time they need them.

This is a thoughtful conversation for educators, parents, policymakers, and anyone shaping the future of learning for children under five and beyond.
