Governor Radda Congratulates Naufal Ahmad on Conferment as Gamzakin Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Malam @dikko_radda , has congratulated the Director-General of the Katsina State Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, KATDICT, @9aufal Ahmad, on his conferment of the traditional title of Gamzakin Katsina.

Governor Radda described the conferment as a well-deserved honour that recognizes Naufal Ahmad's dedication, innovation, and commitment to the development of Katsina State.

The Governor said the title of Gamzaki, which symbolizes guidance and illumination, perfectly reflects Naufal's role in driving the state's digital transformation agenda.

He noted that under Naufal's leadership, KATDICT has advanced technology-driven public service, promoted digital skills, and created new opportunities for young people in technology and innovation.

Governor Radda said the honour affirms the value of selfless service and urged the new Gamzakin Katsina to see the title as a call to greater service with humility and dedication.

The Governor thanked HRH, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, for the befitting honour bestowed on Naufal Ahmad. He said the conferment speaks volumes of the Emirate's commitment to recognizing and encouraging young professionals driving the progress of Katsina State.

He wished him continued wisdom and success in service to Katsina State and Nigeria.

KATDICT, NAWOJ Partner to Promote Safer and More Productive Social Media Use

KATSINA, September 2, 2026 The Katsina State Directorate of Information and Communications Technology (KATDICT) has partnered with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Katsina State Chapter, to promote responsible use of social media and tackle growing concerns around cyberbullying, online harassment and misinformation.

The partnership followed a meeting with the newly elected NAWOJ executives, where both organisations agreed to work together on digital awareness, online safety, fact-checking and responsible digital communication.

The initiative will also focus on helping journalists and the wider public use digital platforms more effectively for information, entrepreneurship, innovation and economic development.

KATDICT and NAWOJ believe social media should be a tool for building people, businesses and communities—not a platform for abuse, harassment and misinformation.

The partnership marks a shared commitment to making Katsina’s digital space safer, more responsible and more productive.

Towards Better Connectivity: Meeting with the Regional Coordinator, Galaxy Backbone; Northwestern Nigeria

A strategic engagement was held with the newly appointed Regional Coordinator, Galaxy Backbone (GBB), Northwestern Nigeria, Kano Office, aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between Katsina State Government and Galaxy Backbone.

The meeting focused on exploring progressive partnership opportunities ahead of the rollout of iKatsina; the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) framework for Katsina State.

Discussions centred on how Galaxy Backbone’s infrastructure, connectivity and digital capabilities can support the State’s broader Digital Transformation Journey, championed by KATDICT, while creating a stronger foundation for sustainable digital public services across Katsina State.

The engagement also explored opportunities for deeper institutional collaboration between Katsina State, KATDICT and Galaxy Backbone, particularly around digital infrastructure, connectivity, government platforms, shared services and other strategic initiatives that can accelerate the implementation of the Governor’s digital transformation agenda.

Following the successful development and deployment of the Katsina State Ministry of Education’s new web portal, KATDICT conducted a hands-on training for designated staff.

The session focused on navigating, managing and updating the portal to keep information current and useful to the public.

This supports KATDICT’s goal of ensuring government digital platforms are not only developed, but properly adopted, maintained and actively used by MDAs.

Katsina State is taking deliberate steps to drive the implementation of the National Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy.

The Director General of KATDICT- Naufal Ahmad recently received a delegation from the Ministry of Women Affairs / WEE Implementation Team. During the visit, discussions focused on the domestication and rollout of the policy in the state.
As one of the 15 pioneer states and a recognised model state for this national framework, Katsina has a key role to play in translating policy into meaningful impact for women.
