Conference hears urgent calls for governments to uphold rights and properly value care - @Kathleensf1
"Government must stop treating care as an afterthought and start meeting their legal and moral obligations to those who depend on support services."

The Occupied Territories Bill must include both goods & services if it is to have any real impact.
Delighted to meet Dr Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid @IrePalestine today to reiterate my support for a full ban on trade of goods & services from the Occupied Palestinian Territories. 🇵🇸🇮🇪
I am delighted to learn that the Cypriot Presidency has proposed direct funding for Peace Plus in its "negotiating box" as part of the next long term EU budget. The Irish Presidency must deliver on this proposal. I will make sure the EP continues to support Peace Plus.
The recent fires in Waterford have devastated businesses & staff, alongside vital community & disability services.
I want to commend the incredible emergency services for their rapid response. We now need urgent supports to be delivered for those affected.
Benjamin Netanyahu should be in prison for war crimes, not causing further devastation for the people in Lebanon and Palestine.
If we are serious about a lasting ceasefire, we need the occupying IDF to withdraw from Lebanese territory!
This morning I met with Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner Michael O’Flaherty. We discussed the deeply important issue of historical institutional abuse in Ireland.
It was a very constructive meeting & we are committed to securing truth, accountability & justice.
EU Commission must scrap plans to provisionally apply Mercosur - @Kathleensf1 & @LNBDublin
"This deal will put pressure on small European farmers and the global environment, with little economic growth to justify it."

Von der Leyen’s proposal to remove veto on EU foreign policy must be firmly opposed - @Kathleensf1
“It would result in small and neutral countries like Ireland would be especially vulnerable to being overruled on matters of war and defence.”

CAP and LEADER funding must be protected in upcoming EU Budget – @Kathleensf1
“To make cuts and not to commit dedicated budgets in the long run severely undermines farm succession, food security, and support for rural communities.”
https://t.co/gwiYTWXJlO
The continual reduction in dedicated CAP funding threatens the ability of Irish farmers to produce food to the highest standards.
The Commission must safeguard CAP funding, protect LEADER & community-led programmes, provide certainty throughout the upcoming EU Budget.
Too many women experiencing menopause symptoms are dismissed or told it’s “just hormones”.
Menopause care must be taken seriously, and healthcare professionals must be sufficiently educated to recognise symptoms and refer women to the right services. 🚺

One of my key goals as an MEP is to help groups learn about and access EU funding, so they can bring their projects to life.
‘One Stop Shops’ for local authorities and groups trying to access funding would be a huge step in simplifying this process.

Children deserve better protection online
Child sexual abuse material is at an all-time high, yet children’s issues are still often an afterthought in policy making
We must hold major platforms to account, strengthen safeguards, & ensure those responsible are brought to justice
Equal pay for equal work must be the standard in 2026.
The European Parliament votes today on ending gender discrimination in pay and conditions.
I welcome the call to extend collective bargaining to part-time and temporary workers, especially in low-paid sectors.
EU Housing report falls far short of offering genuine solutions to crisis - @Kathleensf1 & @LNBDublin
“The EU is going down a dangerous path of following the Fianna Fáil & Fine Gael into pro-developer policy that will only contribute to a longer crisis.”

Households are being fleeced by sky high energy bills, while energy companies rake in record profits.
We need to end the energy rip-off! This week, Sinn Féin introduced legislation to the Dáil to crack down on price gouging. Now the government must act and adopt it!
