UPDATE 8/27: Both north and southbound traffic are reduced to to one lane from I-35 to 31st. KC Water crews are actively working to repair Southwest Trafficway. Please continue to avoid the area if possible. Crews will provide more details when available.

KC Water crews are investigating a street cave-in reported shortly after 2 p.m. on Southwest Trafficway. The left southbound lane between 28th and 31st streets is closed until further notice.
Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
