On 11th June 2026, the High Commissioner hosted Mozambican artist Aniano Tamele as part of efforts to advance cultural diplomacy between Kenya & Mozambique.
The engagement explored potential collaboration in the arts, education, language, and shared heritage.
She briefed on investment & cooperation opportunities in Gaza . Discussions focused on the province’s strengths in agriculture, mineral resources, & tourism. Both underscored the potential of enhanced bilateral engagement to unlock mutually beneficial economic opportunities.
11.06.2026: Ms. Margarida Mapandzene Chongo - Governor, Gaza Province paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner. She was accompanied by
Dixon Chongo, Vice President, Mozambique Chamber of Commerce(CCM) and Ilda Matabel - Vice President, Internal Affairs - CCM.
The High Commissioner took the opportunity to meet representatives of the Kenyan Diaspora in Nampula, urging them to maintain unity and register with the High Commission to facilitate consular services .
The forum showcased Mozambique's strategic national products to multinational eco-tourism groups & global investors.
Both Kenya & Mozambique consider tourism an important economic activity that has the potential to improve the lives of their people.
The High Commissioner & Amb. Caetano took the opportunity to re-affirm the existing strong and cordial bilateral ties between Kenya and Mozambique.

Amb. Hermanegildo Caetano, Director - Africa Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of Mozambique led the officials from the Government of Mozambique.
The sports event strengthened the bonds of friendship and cooperation between African diplomatic missions accredited to Mozambique and the host country.
23.O5.2026: As part of this year's Africa Week celebrations, a football tournament was held in Maputo Province. The High Commissioner led the African diplomats' team in his capacity as team captain.
