Under the influence of the impending Cyclonic Storm “Arnab,” isolated extremely heavy rainfall is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 27th–28th October, Odisha on 28th October, Chhattisgarh on 28th–29th October, and East Uttar Pradesh on 29th October, 2026.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places over Odisha, Vidarbha, Telangana, East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar during 27th–30th October, 2026.

The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Eastcentral and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal concentrated into a Depression and lay centered at 1200 UTC of today, the 24th October, 2026 over the same region, near Latitude 15.8°N and Longitude 90.7°E, about 510 km north-northwest of Sri Vijaya Puram (43333, Andaman Islands), 820 km east-southeast of Vishakhapatnam (43149, Andhra Pradesh), 910 km east-southeast of Kakinada (43189, Andhra Pradesh), 1020 km east of Machilipatnam (43185, Andhra Pradesh) and 1100 km east of Bapatla (Andhra Pradesh).
It is very likely to move nearly southwards, intensify into a Deep Depression and then gradually recurve west-northwestwards over the Eastcentral & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal on 25th October, 2026. Continuing to move west-northwestwards, it is very likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm over the Eastcentral & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal by 0000 UTC of 26th October, and into a severe cyclonic storm over Westcentral Bay of Bengal around 0000 UTC of 27th October 2026.

Thereafter, it is very likely to move northwestwards, intensify further into a very severe cyclonic storm and reach Westcentral Bay of Bengal near Andhra Pradesh coast around 0000 UTC of 28th October, 2026.  It is very likely to cross Andhra Pradesh & Yanam coasts between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam as a very severe cyclonic storm with the maximum sustained wind speed of 115-125 kmph gusting to 140 kmph around 0600 UTC of 28th October 2026.
