Just a reminder that Kentucky Democrats included teacher raises and affordable housing funding in the state budget. The @KYGOP removed both but made sure to keep their own raises.
I will be sharing more information on the impacts from the General Assembly's cruel budget cuts, including an update on the Lee Specialty Clinic, during tomorrow's Team Kentucky Update. Watch live at 12:30 p.m. EDT via https://t.co/n7homY7tSv or https://t.co/ofGhdJMJFP.
“Unfortunately, the Republican supermajority in the General Assembly chose not to follow my budget but instead created and passed their own, with more than $1 billion less than these necessary services cost the commonwealth.” - Gov. @AndyBeshearKY
Shame on you, @KYGOP.
.@AndyBeshearKY is attacking Republicans and claiming the GOP is ripping the heart out of programs Kentuckians rely on. But as @KYAuditor explains in her Herald-Leader opinion, the reality is that the Governor and his administration are at the root of this problem.
Not only did Beshear's administration fail to engage in efforts to address these issues, they repeatedly deflect responsibility to outside agencies and, of course, Republicans.
Rather than responsibly reforming outdated and unnecessary programs, the Governor is targeting services Kentuckians depend on so he can manufacture a political attack against Republicans.
Kentuckians deserve a Governor willing to do the hard work of governing, not one who creates a crisis, blames everyone else, and uses it to advance his own political ambitions.

Four years ago today, the Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade and Kentucky’s extreme abortion ban went into effect. Since then, women have been denied care and suffered through devastating situations without access to healthcare. We’ll keep fighting to restore these rights.
“Women – not the government – deserve to make their own health care decisions.”
Lt. Gov. @jacquelineforky has faced uncertainty at the hospital herself. She wrote about why these health decisions belong to women and their doctors.

Gov. @AndyBeshearKY has been warning Kentucky Republicans about the healthcare cuts since January.
He put forward a budget that would’ve fully funded Medicaid and behavioral health services. @KYGOP rejected it and passed their own. Now clinics across the state are shutting down.

➡️Provided full funding & services for providers
➡️Fully funded Medicaid

The @KYGOP doesn’t want you to save money on gas. They refuse to work with Gov. @AndyBeshearKY to extend the gas tax cut across the Commonwealth.

Gov. @AndyBeshearKY just announced that Kentucky had its biggest tourism year ever. 2025 marked 4 straight years of record-breaking growth with nearly $15 billion in economic impact, 81 million travelers, and almost 97,000 jobs supported. Our New Kentucky Home is the place to be!
Politicians should always put the people they serve first. That's exactly what @StrangeForKY plans to do because Kentuckians deserve better than a billionaire's puppet.
