Willie Ray “Smokie” Norful, Jr. (Sigma, 1992) is a Grammy-winning gospel singer, pastor, and UA Pine Bluff alumnus. With Master of Divinity and Leadership degrees, he’s served as educator, historian, and pastor, founding Victory Cathedral Worship Center.
Kappa Alpha Psi honors Black History Month by highlighting members’ achievements. Horace McDougal (Theta 1921) broke color barriers in golf - the first Black golfer at Northwestern University, integrating college golf, founder of Black golf clubs, and 2025 IL Golf HOF inductee.
