CEO of Virunga Mountain Spirits in #Rwanda. Author of Brick by Brick: Building Hope and Opportunity for Women Survivors. Former president of @AkilahInstitute.
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the run up to #InternationalWomensDay than to announce my exciting new venture, Virunga Mountain Spirits, based in Musanze, Rwanda.
As the year draws to a close, I'm reflecting on some of my highlights, which included getting back to in person book events. And one of my favourites from 2021 was talking to @lshenoy about my book, #BrickByBrick@OxfordExchange. #ThrowbackThursday
We love to work with #VirungaMountainSpirits stakeholders.
We cannot wait to see where this journey takes us and appreciate the help and support of everyone involved.

It's been wonderful to build new relationships in Rwanda for #VirungaMoutainSpirits.
We aim to make our distillery fully sustainable by collaborating with local farmers to provide them with “waste” from our distillery to use as fertilizer and animal feed https://t.co/UCgu3BLUWF
It's harvest time in Musanze! Here I am with @winnazworld farmers harvesting potatoes. Our #VirungaMoutainSpirits vodka will be made from the Winnaz potato waste. Read more here https://t.co/UCgu3BLUWF
Our first product will be potato vodka, made with potato waste sourced through a partnership with @winnazworld.
Stay tuned for more information! https://t.co/UCgu3BLUWF #zerowaste#lovecrispsandvodka
So thrilled to have been involved in @DrSamCollins' #RebelBookLaunch where I got a chance to reflect on my chapter "Bad Mother".
My advice to the people tuning in: "Sometimes you have to leap even when you don't know where you're going to land." #RebelliousBook

Bringing @DrSamCollins #RebelBookLaunch to a close is my own story in the #RebelliousBook and how climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was a symbolic movement for me. "I'm going to climb that mountain even if I have to crawl my way up."
Was fantastic to hear from Sarah Kitakule during @DrSamCollins' #RebelBookLaunch on how her rebellion was in education and it all started with starting a library in her own town in Uganda.

My chapter “Bad Mother” covers an unconventional choice I made on a family climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro and the difficult balance of navigating other people’s perceptions and my own personal and professional ambitions.
