Soldiers from 47 Air Despatch Squadron RLC were part of a specialist Army team that delivered life-saving medical support to a British national suspected of contracting Hantavirus.
The team comprised of paratroopers and two military clinicians from 16 Air Assault Brigade who jumped from an RAF A400M, while vital oxygen and medical supplies were air-dropped by 47 Air Despatch Squadron.
Conducted in challenging conditions, this is the first time the UK military has inserted medical personnel via parachute for a humanitarian mission.

We pause today to remember Lance Corporal George Hooley as he returned home to the UK.
Before his passing, Lance Corporal Hooley wrote a letter to his family and friends to be opened in the event of his death. At their request, we now share his words with you.
Our thoughts remain with his family, friends and colleagues. May his words bring comfort to all who read them.
