WOMEN TAKING LEAD IN DECISION MAKING IN TANA RIVER COUNTY. In Shirikisho and Ngao, women are moving beyond being beneficiaries to becoming voices in leadership, peacebuilding and community decision-making. Women are organising, speaking up and influencing conversations on the issues affecting their communities. @KECOSCE through #kcerp, @theGCERF @tendasasa has empowered over 680 grassroots women who are now participating in community development programs, the women have supported 4survivors SGBV to access justice, resolved 7 family disputes through ADR. Supported 15 young girls to enrol in vocational training. These are not just numbers, each number is a story of transformation.

Women in Tana River county have for many years taken leadership roles in #peaceandsecurity @SDG16, @AustriasLevins and have become pillars of #resilience. however their inclusion in formal decision making is minimal. @kecosce with support from @theGCERF @tendasasa are implementing the #kcerp project aimed at #pcve and promoting the role of women in PCVE and localisation of @KNAPIII @unresolution 1325 in the County.

From Training to Local Action: In Tana River, the Jasiri Resilience Model is turning knowledge into community-led action. A follow-up meeting brought together women’s groups, youth, religious leaders, traditional elders and local security actors to review progress, share learning and strengthen locally led responses to violent extremism.

The results are tangible: 25 young mothers and 52 youth have been supported back into TVET institutions to gain livelihood skills in plumbing, electrical work and beauty therapy in addressing unemployment and exclusion, key drivers of vulnerability.
Youth have also formed the Kingadi Youth Group, bringing together young people from Kipao, Ngao and Dibe to address ethnic conflict, strengthen social cohesion and work with state actors to enhance community safety.

Meanwhile, chiefs, elders and youth are jointly addressing harmful practices, including relocating alcohol-selling points away from settlements to protect children and reduce gender-based violence.

This is what sustainable resilience looks like: trained local actors working together, communities leading solutions and partnerships translating investment into lasting change. @tendasasa @theGCERF

From Training to Community Action: The impact of the women Trained through the IMARISHA Project supported by @denmarkinkenya through @tendasasa is putting to action commitments made after the training.
Women and girls leaders are taking the knowledge and skills gained in leadership, peacebuilding, conflict resolution and WPS back to their communities by sharing what they have learned and engaging others in building peaceful and inclusive communities.

@KECOSCE supported by @denmarkinkenya through @tendasasa , conducted the #rps assesment for beneficiaries from Kwale, Mombasa, and Kilifi counties. The goal was to document the project's progress, outcomes, and the impact of our interventions from the beneficiaries' point of view.
During the meeting, participants shared their successes and experiences in climate-smart horticulture, poultry farming, contributions, and benefits from the provision of essential farming equipment and technology, as well as the capacity building sessions in climate-smart techniques.
These discussions confirmed that the project significantly improved resilience, food security, and community cohesion through locally-led adaptation initiatives.

With support of @theGCERF through @tendasasa, today @KECOSCE conducted an InterFaith dialogue in Tarassa Sub_County in Tana River County through #KCERP project, bringing on board Youth and Women champions to dialogue with Religious leaders on critical topical issues including existing narratives that suppresses women voices, drive youth to radicalization, shrink spaces for participation and decision making. The dialogue became an eye_opener and a platform for learning and re_learning.
