I haven't tweeted much anyway in the last few years but I'm officially moving to BlueSky for moral reasons. Find my new account here: https://t.co/VURjWjV1kR
And first post on our new preprint here!

@davidpoeppel @ESI_Frankfurt Name some names!!! Let's go!
Honestly, I'm very happy to hear you'll be able to take on less and focus on your first love of research and mentoring at NYU. ESI doesn't understand what it has lost.
I'm leaving @ESI_Frankfurt. I’ll miss the huge group of kind smart hardworking 95% who make it so promising. But relieved to leave the handful of people whose behavior does not meet minimal standards of morality. In admin & senior science, a few truly *appalling* people. 🧵 soon.
First time at #SfN24 in a number of years! Very happy to be here to see @EeroSimoncelli being awarded for his incredible work. An amazing researcher and educator.
Very happy to share this labor of love that @FlorAssaneo@Luc_H_Arnal and I started during COVID. We combined some careful beh exp design with dynamical and Bayesian models to show how oscillators could be mapped to Bayesian perception in time. https://t.co/nnsfKo8PVb
Our findings highlight neural oscillations as useful to process signals with regular temporal stats (speech & music, or other neural signals). The "magic" of a phase response curve can mimic Bayesian computation over time well with very little memory and only a few parameters.
Are relative and absolute timing truly two different mechanisms? Here, with @KeithD11 and @Luc_H_Arnal we show by bringing together behavioral data, oscillators and Bayesian predictions that they can be sides of the same coin.

1000 Black scientists in Neuro-related fields! When we started this community 3 years ago, ‘we can’t find any Black neuroscientists…’ was a phrase we were used to hearing.
That excuse won’t fly anymore! 👁️👁️

Excited to announce that this year, @snlmtg has partnered with @BlackInNeuro and @SocietySpark! All their early career researchers now have complimentary membership in our society. You’ll find a list of our many membership benefits on our website. Welcome!

Hello #BINW23! I'm Keith Doelling a post-doc (and soon to be dad!) at @institutpasteur studying how context in speech and music facilitates perception and memory, using computational models and M/EEG to study human minds. #BlackInNeuroRollCall@BlackInNeuro
My name is Ilenna Jones! I'm a PhD student in theoretical neuroscience asking what parts of single neurons are contributing to learning and computation in the brain.
Find me if you want to dance, sing, or think together.

@DrDeeKnight @TheRealDrDukes @institutpasteur@BlackInNeuro The vocal learning work is really interesting. We think of motor circuits being heavily involved in prediction as well and it's very tempting to link all of this to not only vocal learning but all kinds of learning. Acting and making errors is the best way to learn after all!
