Today I have listened to two sermons—one that was taught with excellence and authority, the other by a layman at my father’s assisted living center that wasn’t polished but authentic. Both encouraged the hearers and were faithful to the Word. I think God can use both.

Today while shopping, two young moms approached me with children in tow. I am embarrassed to say my first thought was that they wanted money. Instead, they asked how they could pray for me. And in the middle of the store, we prayed.
