Aid was introduced after WWII to restore Europe, then it went to developing countries mainly for fighting poverty, responding to humanitarian crises & to stabilise conflict countries.
Today the total volume is about $204 billion (OECD). But it has peaked, we are seeing declines, and we see a repurposing of aid -- instead of going toward poverty, humanitarian, stabilising countries, it is being diverted to host migrants, promote trade, and for migration control. #DecolonizeAid
