Shorting is significantly harder than longing, and the reason is structural and time

An asset will eventually go up at some point. Time is on the long side by default.. That single fact lets an entire category of people call themselves investors while running no plan whatsoever "just buy and hold" they say

Here is what nobody says:
The long-only crowd frequently has no invalidation at all! Ask where the idea stops being valid and there is no answer, because the answer is the liquidation price. That is not a strategy. That is using the exchange's risk engine as a substitute for your own, and it is what eventually takes out the overwhelming majority of participants

Shorting does not permit that most of the time:
- Time works against you, so the plan has to be exact. Where you enter, where you are wrong, what size, what the exit looks like. You cannot short on vibes and wait it out. The position forces discipline on you whether you wanted it or not

Longing requires the same discipline indeed but it simply does not punish you immediately for skipping it, which is why so many people don't plan

Look at how the biggest accounts in this space actually operate. Years of promoting the same asset. No stop loss ever mentioned. No plan ever posted. No invalidation ever defined. And because the asset eventually goes up, it looks like a thesis rather than what it is, which is patience marketed as expertise!

I post day to day setups with entries, invalidations, and results, wins and losses both. The alternative from my side would be announcing one long and updating you on it in two years. That is not analysis. That is just holding

Understand the difference, because it decides which side of the transaction you are on and if you make money or lose

Either you are making money from the market, or the market and the people promoting it are making money from you.
There is no third position

We’re sorry to see that OpenAI put out a note saying they plan to block Cursor users from accessing OpenAI models in three months.

OpenAI models serve about 5% of Cursor user traffic, and we’re speaking with the OpenAI team to resolve this.

Cursor was one of the very first users of OpenAI, we’ve worked closely with their team for years, and we’ve trusted their platform to be neutral infrastructure for our business.
