@ramit I haven't been to a Costco in 3 years. Have been more than willing to pay the Instacart costs and tip drivers to make our Costco runs for us. The time saved is more than worth the cost.

Have said for a few years that coaching HS basketball is the hardest level of coaching. This list of realities is comprehensive and accurate. Throw in the increase of lack of support from school/district for HS coaches and it becomes a tough job.
@ramit Do want:
- Spend $ on fitness without thinking about (recovering from ruptured Achilles so getting back to fitness is a big dial for future me)
- Eating out
Don't want:
- New car. Would rather spend money to keep current vehicles (owned) in running order.
Giannis is outstanding: “There’s no failure in sports. There’s good days, bad days, some days you are able to be successful, some days you are not, some days it is your turn, some days it’s not. That’s what sports is about. You don’t always win.”
This is my biggest gripe with youth leagues. Too much caring about W/Ls, too many brackets where winning matters, too much emphasis on state tournaments and not enough time spent on skill development and just playing.
I had a meeting with @movementcoachkm of Ireland a few months back.
I learned a lot.
But one thing that FASCINATED me was that in many European youth leagues, they don’t really keep track of wins and losses like that.
They instead focus on *developing* 13-year olds.
Imagine.
