Our hearts are broken. We met this wonderful girl 15 years ago and she brought joy and spunk to everything and everyone. Markya Hunt passed away tragically in car wreck. We are helping her family raise funds for funeral and to take care of her daughter: https://t.co/F5HDude5rB
To all hardworking employees: Happy Labor Day! And a special shout out to those who work hard to support our children. Thank you all for making our world a better place to live and work in.
We took our children skating again. Why? It’s a lot of fun. But there’s more happening here. When our kids get together, they meet new people and experience new activities. It’s part of our initiatives to get them more engaged in their communities.
Our little Picassos are back! Our children took part in another painting event. They drew on canvases, enjoyed pizza and drinks, and got to spend time with each other trying new things.
Roller skating, pizza and fun! Our children enjoyed a fun day out with their families and friends recently. It was part of our ongoing services to get our children out, safely, so they could challenge themselves, try new things, and enjoy each other’s company.
Love those smiles!....We took our kids this weekend to a skateboarding clinic in a park in Homestead, Fla. They learned how to ride and skate with their families and friends. Our mission, as always: bring joy to our children and have them experience new things.
Bonding on skates!...We recently took our children and their families to a skating center where they got to skate, eat and have a blast making new memories. It’s so important for them to be kids again during these hard times. We look forward to doing this again very soon.
Lately we’ve been helping our children express themselves through art. Our kids are learning to paint and draw as a way to think creatively and show others what’s on their minds. Aren’t these pieces beautiful? We certainly think so!
Our staff is still making home visits to our families. We are bringing them food, toys, and educational supplies to make sure our children are well fed, involved in school, and get to be kids by doing fun things. There are smiles behind those masks!
Those aren’t bags of trash! Instead, they are holiday gifts for our children, donated by wonderful organizations from across our state of Florida. We are grateful for the support. Happy holidays!
We had a blast at our recent holiday get-together – our children skated, played games, ate lunch, and got to spend time with their friends and families. It’s what bonding is all about: bringing our families together, doing projects and just having fun.
Happy Thanksgiving! Our kids recently did a turkey day project requiring them to work together and spend time with their loved ones. All the cutting, pasting, planning, and getting things done led to --- beautiful art pieces.
Our kids were busy preparing for Halloween last week. But there was more going on at this event – our kids were spending time with their families, they were learning to finish projects.
For many of us, these are all basics of life. That’s not always the case for our kids.
We are grateful to have been a part of a panel this week on the importance of family and community involvement for returning citizens. Our CEO Shellie Solomon joined FDC Secretary Mark Inch, Miss USA Asya Branch, and Miami-Dade Commissioner Kionne L McGhee in the discussion.
