Before it became the largest onshore lifting device in the world, it started here.
These photos show the assembly of our Heavy Lifting Device (HLD) at KOS in Texas.
Now standing 500 feet tall, the HLD has lifted nearly 560 million pounds since first use in 2004.
We’re able to build and serve our communities because of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This Memorial Day, we remember and honor them, and extend our deepest gratitude to their families.
Before the equipment moves.
Before demo begins.
Designing and building starts with our people.
For 140 years, Kiewit teams have worked together to solve challenges and deliver infrastructure that supports communities across North America.
And we’re just getting started.
Behind every project are the people who make it possible. And behind many of those people are incredible mothers.
This Mother’s Day, we recognize the moms, stepmoms, caregivers, guardians and grandmothers who support, guide and inspire our teams. Thank you for everything you do!
Construction Safety Week is coming to a close, but the work doesn’t stop.
Thank you to our teams for your commitment, your accountability and the way you show up for each other every day.

Employees volunteer their time to restore our natural spaces on #EarthDay and throughout the year.
Not all construction happens in a hard hat.
From early planning to project execution, a lot of the work starts right here.
Take a look inside some of the spaces where our teams connect, collaborate and help move projects forward.

We’re proud to work alongside women whose leadership and expertise help move our projects and our industry forward.
Our Frontier team in Shackelford County, Texas, including general contractor @kiewit recently volunteered with the Food Bank of West Central Texas, packing more than 1,000 boxes of food and breaking the standing volunteer record for most boxes packed in a single day!
In addition, Vantage proudly supported the food bank with a donation to help expand food access across the region.
We are committed to being good neighbors and supporting the communities where we operate. Thank you to the Food Bank of West Central Texas for the critical support you provide to those in need.
