Another Match Day is in the books.
So you already know what time it is.
(And if for some reason you didn’t: it’s time to break things down, Winners & Losers style.)

One sudden ECG, one crash on the highway, one unexpected phone call — and everything changes. As a cardiologist and leader, I see daily how fragile plans, careers, and identities really are. Patients arrive with lives paused; families’ priorities rearrange in an instant. Those moments are a constant reminder to stay humble, to lead with compassion, and to make every interaction count.
We can’t control every outcome, but we can control how we show up: listen more, assume less, communicate clearly, and design systems that protect the moments that matter. Invest in relationships, mentorship, and team resilience today — because the person you are supporting now might be the one who carries your work forward tomorrow.
Don’t take health, time, or trust for granted. Reflect on one change you can make this week to be kinder, clearer, or more present — then do it.
What small change will you commit to today?

Whatever they’re paying you for night>day >night call disruption…It’s not enough. ⬆️ cardiac events…and adequate 😴 after doesn’t fix it.

There are four broad reasons to hold meetings: to influence others, to make decisions, to solve problems, or to strengthen relationships. These are all active processes, so passive participation in meetings doesn't really work. https://t.co/h9W3niYKj9
When asked about what makes a good doctor, Dr. Nasca pointed out that we often focus on the academic dimensions, but compassion will be more important to future physicians.
