SSC Khaatumo has successfully disarmed a 32-year old army and secured its rightful monopoly on violence in North Somalia🇸🇴. Power should be wielded by those of great determination.
The U.S. is ending AUSSOM funding this year, the force 12K AU troops and 21K Somali forces relied on. Las'anod rebuilt itself: no donor blueprint, just its own people. That's the real Somalia model. Does forced independence work, or create a vacuum? https://t.co/cRWvzEVaWF
Colonial borders drew the Somali Republic.
They did not draw the Somali nation.
President Mohammed Siyad Barre: born in Shilabo
President Aden Abdulle Osman outside today's border
Abdirizak H. Hussein born outside the Republic
The current PM Hamza Abdi Barre: outside the republic
The current speaker of the Senate Abdi Hashi was born in Babili
Were they less Somali? Of course not
That tells everything:
Somaliness is not a passport accident. It is rooted in abtirsi, language, culture, and share history.
The map is political.
The people are historical.
What in the world @Google?
Haven’t you learned your lesson from how terrible your search was on Islam? Now your AI is just casually being Islamophobic?

Rewarding separatist regions with multimillion projects while leaving unionist regions with empty promises proves how NGO-driven policies undermine statehood. Somalia will never regain sovereignty until foreign-dominated agendas are replaced by unified, sovereign governance.
“Israel’s political and increasingly military presence in Somaliland is a real risk to peace in northern Somalia.”
@HoehneVirgil warns an Israeli foothold near Berbera could bring Middle East instability into northern Somalia.

The Pres. of North Eastern State says the struggle for control of the Red Sea & Bab El-Mandeb is reshaping the Horn.
Driven by maritime security & the fight against extremism, these changes present both risks & opportunities for N.E. State.

A convoy of heavy construction vehicles bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, & cranes are seen rolling through the city of Las'Anod WB 🇸🇴
2 da haters this is the reality on the ground in Las'Anod You don't build a state with rumors you build it with concrete, steel, & hard work.

“Men are quite controlling in my culture”
Why portray an entire society this way and generalize one personal experience to a whole community? Notice that her mother belongs to the generation that lived under Siad Barre, when Somalia’s nationwide literacy campaign raised literacy from roughly 5% to nearly 70%.
What kind of men does she want Somali men to become? Gay?
Whenever you hear calls like this, what they are really targeting is the fierceness of Somali men, a trait that reflects the nature of a land that has always been coveted throughout history. Yet the Somali character has remained unchanged and, perhaps, has only grown fiercer.
Her whole perspective of her homeland and her community is completely wrong, so there is no reason for me to even wait for the film.
I like the fact that she proudly carries our flag everywhere, but she should have stuck to that role instead of trying to impose her own ideas and project her personal choices onto Somali society.
⚡️Politicians who led the civilian government from 1960-1969 were no better than today’s NGO politicians!
They earned a reputation for squandering aid. One report even described the civilian government as the “graveyard of aid schemes.”
