@heyroshanna From what I understand, the concerns seem misplaced. Taxi drivers on Uber would still receive the regulated fare and protections. Uber would just connect licensed taxi drivers with riders, increasing choice while keeping earnings consistent.
I’ve done my part by educating my American friends to stop saying “Caribbeans”. The correct term when referring to people from the Caribbean is “West Indian” if you are unsure what island they are from.
From there we would know you actually cared enough to learn about us.
Our thoughts are with the people of Jamaica as they face Hurricane Melissa.
