Remember Dangerous Dave from when we were kids?
Remember when we got stuck around level 7, and for every attempt to figure it out, we had to run through levels 1–6, just to die on level 7 again, without ever figuring it out?
Well, we remade it, and now you can choose the level!
We also made the game run smoother and added a modern-resolution option that preserves the original look and feel, just with sharper graphics!

Noop - the app that let you use Whoop without a subscription was recently deleted from GitHub.
Since many of you asked, I’ve pushed the last version I had to GitHub and made the artifacts available.
The dev got burnt out after being bombarded with feature requests and entitlement for a free project.
No promises on updates. No ownership drama. If Whoop asks me to archive it, I will.
Download the source/artifacts while they last. 🧵
My Xiaomi TV was insanely slow because of adware and bloatware. Been struggling with this problem for a long time
Used claude to make it fast and smooth!

A tribal farmer from Wayanad died this week at 74. In his old mud house, he kept more than 60 traditional rice varieties alive.
His name was Cheruvayal Raman. People called him Ramettan.
He belonged to the Kurichya tribe in Wayanad, Kerala. When he was 17, his uncle died, and the family's traditional rice seeds came to him.
Wayanad once had around 160 native rice varieties. Most of them have disappeared.
He grew each old variety in its own small plot. Every year he harvested it, dried the seeds, and stored them in his mud house for the next season.
He stopped using chemical fertiliser in 1978. He said the earthworms came back after that.
It cost him around Rs 70,000 a year. Some years, his family lived on ration rice.
When other farmers came asking, mostly tribal families, he gave them seeds without taking money.
In 2023, he got the Padma Shri. Kerala Agricultural University made him a professor of practice.
He once said, "Don't call me a hero. Make sure the seeds survive. That is enough."
I think @Caleb_Denison nailed it on the head with his take on the new Apple 4K TV.
With no audio passthrough and no sizeable improvements in picture processing (and at double the price) this new Apple 4K TV is an incredibly hard sell.

Apple just made Docker Desktop optional on Mac.
And it is completely free.
This is apple/container. 26.5k stars no Github.
You can now run Linux containers natively on your Mac without installing Docker Desktop, without a background daemon hogging your RAM, and without paying $21 a month per developer for a commercial license.
Here is what it does:
→ Runs Linux containers as lightweight VMs directly on Apple Silicon using macOS 26 virtualization
→ Fully OCI compatible. Pull any image from Docker Hub, GitHub Container Registry or anywhere else
→ Written in Swift and optimised specifically for Apple Silicon. Faster and lighter than anything Docker Desktop does on Mac
→ Standard container CLI syntax. If you know Docker commands you already know how to use this
→ Push images you build to any standard container registry and run them anywhere
Docker Desktop charges $21 per developer per month for commercial use. Apple's version costs nothing and ships as open source under Apache-2.0.
Microsoft made Docker Desktop optional on Windows with WSL Containers last month.
Apple just did the same on Mac.
Docker is not going anywhere. But the era of paying for a GUI wrapper around containers on your own machine is quietly ending.

The limit on software used to be engineering and now it's mostly imagination.
I'd spend a lot more time on the version of my idea that makes people say "wait, what is that?"
Most software looks the same, so anything that looks different gets noticed, shared and remembered.
