Good Morning - I don’t celebrate the business failings of others but I do analyze the consequences of bad decisions, particular those that end up in criminal court.

The long saga of Frank, a fintech startup founded by Charlie Javice has come to an unfortunate milestone as she has been found guilty of defrauding @jpmorgan (lying about how many customers she had and creating lists of fake customers, among other things) in the $175 million deal. She’s now a 4-count convicted felon awaiting sentencing.

To show how absurd her side of the trial has been, after being found guilty, her lawyers boldly told the judge that she can’t wear an ankle monitor between now and sentencing because it interferes with her life as a Pilates instructor. Once again, you can’t make this stuff up!

Moral: Keep your pitch decks tight, your CIMs even tighter and don’t stretch the truth, especially when selling something for 9-digits to Jamie Diamond.

NEW: UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson shot and k*lled in Manhattan by a man in a black mask.

The 50-year-old CEO was outside of the Hilton hotel when a man came up to him and shot him in the chest.

The masked man, who had a grey backpack on, then fled into a nearby alley.

Thompson was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced d*ad.
