A significant part of the current death spiral most western countries find themselves in today can be explained by the fact that we all spend WAY more on maintaining and ever expanding seniors’ benefits than we do in supports for young people (ESPECIALLY young families).
Gotta feel sorry for these Knicks players for having to play in such in a big market.
I'm sure Brunson wishes he was playing for a team in a tax-free state with warm weather. Somewhere with less media and where no one would recognize him
@wakeupbarstool@BizNasty2point0@ryanwhitney6 Did Marner ever do this in Toronto? Also, the Leafs backed up a Brinks truck for him to stay. The idea that he was kicked out of town is crazy. He was chatting about going to Vegas during the Four Nations, Feb 2025.
CBC: "Oh, you killed 16 people? A fifth chance at avoiding deportation is more than appropriate."
ALSO THE CBC: "Oh, you were falsely accused of sexual assault? No fresh start for you."
@TrendPolCa@MarcusPowlowski The Liberals and the media would be crawling over broken glass to talk about Canada being in a recession if the Conservatives were in power, but in this situation apparently no one’s interested.
It's not just among G7 countries.
Mark Carney has made Canada the only G20 country in recession.
Sign to reverse Carney's full-blown Liberal recession: https://t.co/8p4TegI91d
@Sargon_of_Akkad@ZoomerHistorian They are in Canada . They hide Khalistani terrorists and provoke negative trade relations with the governing Hindu majority of India.
Under PM Harper...
Q1 2015: -0.8% annualized GDP
Q2 2015: -0.5% annualized GDP
Bank of Canada: "Yes, Canada meets the technical definition of a recession."
Under PM Carney...
Q4 2025: -1.0% annualized GDP
Q1 2026: -0.1% annualized GDP
Bank of Canada: "Two negative quarters of GDP alone should not be used to define the state of the economy."
So let me get this straight...
Canada is in a recession—the only G7 country currently in one. Unemployment is up. Inflation is rising. Food insecurity is at a record high.
Yet the highest proportion of Canadians since 2017 now say the country is on the right track.
That's either a remarkable display of optimism—or a sign that many Canadians aren't getting the full economic story from the news they consume.
Canada is in a recession.
Mark Carney, the self-styled “great economist,” took office 14 months ago.
He increased the industrial carbon tax, maintained anti-development laws, and doubled Justin Trudeau’s deficit.
This is the consequence.
@BagelPolling We need to invert how tax is collected in this country. The majority should be paid at the municipal level then provincial and finally federal. Of course this would require each level of government to remain within their scope of responsibility which they would not.
