Finished off the year by reading our 169th picture book for #ClassroomBookADay. We also read 5 novels for read aloud time this year. I loved sharing these stories each day and seeing every student look back over the books weโve read throughout the year.#readreadread ๐๐ง ๐๐ผ
Acts of kindness that feel small to us have a big impact on others.
Research: kids and adults underestimate how tiny acts of generosity lift others' moods.
There's no easier way to make someone's day than to offer a compliment, give a little gift, or send a handwritten note.
Showed this to my students (who loved The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise!) this morning and there was loads of excitement for next yearโs release. One student said, โwell it would be even better if you were able to read it to us.โ ๐ฅน
Who wants to hop on the bus with Coyote again?! Itโs official: another Coyote adventure hits the road on 02/27/24! AMAZING cover by @CeliaKrampien . Available for preorder now! Yeehaw!

Can you find the butterflies hiding in plain sight? The grade 4/5s are learning about animal adaptations. Camouflage helped these butterflies stay hidden from the grade 6/7/8s who came for a butterfly hunt! ๐ฆ #learningtogether
Best part of my week was reading the February section of Mr. Terupt (if you know you know) and seeing every student in the room on the edge of their seat and completely engaged in the story. @RobBuyea has some new fans! โ๏ธ
We started off our week by creating this colourful collaborative mural in grade 4/5. It was so cool to see our squares getting pieced together. ๐#learningtogether
Ms. Plueckโs and I sported stickers on our faces for each comprehension question answered correctly in ELA today. Great participation from the 4/5s! ๐๐ผ #learningtogether
Celebrated the new year with some balloon pop activities which included finding math problems that equal 2023 and then turning them into confetti, reading for 2023 seconds, choosing a word for the year to add to our poster, and playing outside for 2023 seconds. #learningtogether
2 rows complete for #ClassroomBookADay means weโve been in school for 58 days, read 58 books aloud, and enjoyed 58 stories together. #LearningTogether ๐ง
This poster of mine is making the rounds online again, so I thought Iโd remind you that you can download it for FREE at the Art page of my website: https://t.co/EyZoW0GU4t
Iโve got a bundle of new posters Iโll be adding to that page in the coming weeks. Now go read to some kids!
Celebrating #InternationalDotDay by reading @peterhreynolds The Dot and painting our own dot art! We made a mark and look where it took us. ๐จ@DotClubConnect
