@meighanstone@CHRomatowski@visible_health I read about electrolytes absorbing better with glucose like C.H. mentioned but already had lots of LMNT, so I’ve been adding powdered dextrose to mine. I think it does seem to help? May be useful to try, if powdered dextrose is easily accessible to you.
No one is really prepared for chronic illness.
They are raised to believe that illness is temporary, something that can be fixed with the right treatment.
Unfortunately for many, they don’t find out how wrong this is until they themselves become chronically ill.
Federal report highlights importance of
- *preventing* COVID infections
- ensuring #CleanAir in schools
- promoting vaccination for everyone, not just those deemed high risk.
MASSIVE gap between @ChiefSciCan recommendations & @fordnation@PublicHealthON practices. #GetItDone

Really don’t understand @ONThealth hiding hundreds of responses re: masking. From a PR standpoint, this decision by their social media team is only going to further tarnish their reputation & damage trust.
Public health really needs to figure out how to effectively scicomm…
Whenever I write about long-covid or ME, I get waves of emails from chronically ill folk who feel seen/heard. But with this piece, I'm *also* hearing from healthy people saying they finally get what their loved ones are going through. Which feels amazing.

If there’s one thing I want y’all to know (because you’re awesome and I don’t want you to get sick) it’s that repeat infections of COVID increase your chances of developing #longCOVID. As this variant spreads, I’d love for you to take care of yourselves and 😷 up!
@savingmeredith You might find @GuavaHealthInc helpful. It’s a health tracking app/website designed for chronic illnesses. I just discovered and started using it last week, but so far it’s been a really helpful way to gather, parse, and share all that information.
It’s time we stop calling the Canadian healthcare system good just because it’s free.
It’s not free if it’s untimely and inaccessible. That’s the cost, and it’s bloody high.
@markwars1972 I’ve only managed to catch one (I’m relieved to check that off my museum list), and I’ve just scared away all the others while running around my island at night.
I’m always telling myself to walk not run, but I never listen. 🤦♀️😂
