#ManmohanSingh
Do yourself a favour today and google Dr Manmohan Singh's resume, have a look at the education section, then the whole thing. Pretty awe inspiring stuff.
I was born and raised in a small village in Kozhikode, Kerala. Coming from a poor family, I often faced bullying while going to school and church. There was even a grocery shop owner—his shop being the only one near my house—who wouldn't allow me to wear my sandals inside the shop. Whenever I bought something from him, he would sarcastically ask, "Has your father suddenly become wealthy enough to afford this?"
My school was 3 kilometers away, and I walked the distance every day, both to and from. Many of my friends, who came from wealthy families, used a jeep service to commute. One day, I learned that by paying the jeep owner 2 rupees, even I could ride with them, at least for one side of the journey. At that time, I was in the 3rd standard and had a strong desire to experience riding in the jeep with my friends. So, I asked my mother for 2 rupees. She handed me the money with a smile and said, "Alright, today you can ride the jeep home after school."
That day, I was filled with joy. I excitedly told my friends, "Today, I’ll be riding with you in the jeep!" When the school bell rang at 4 PM, I ran to the jeep owner, proudly handed him the 2 rupees, and asked if I could get in. But he sneered and said, "Johnny’s son isn’t rich enough to ride in my jeep. Go walk home like you always do." My friends overheard and began mocking me. The jeep left without me, and I stood there in tears. I walked the entire 3 kilometers home, head hung low, crying the whole way.
When I reached home, I ran to my mother and told her what had happened. I cried even harder, and she held me tightly. I still remember her words as she cried with me: "Don’t worry, one day you’ll be successful, and you’ll buy yourself a big, expensive car." That moment left a deep scar in my heart, a trauma I carried for many years.
But today, when I was driving my new Mercedes home from the showroom, I called my mother. I told her, "Amma, your son has bought that expensive car." She cried again, but this time, they were tears of happiness.
That painful incident stayed with me for a long time, but not anymore. Forever grateful to those who helped me during my difficult times.

Priyanka and I were scheduled to visit Wayanad tomorrow to meet with families affected by the landslide and take stock of the situation.
However, due to incessant rains and adverse weather conditions we have been informed by authorities that we will not be able to land.
I want to assure the people of Wayanad that we will visit as soon as possible. In the meantime, we will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide all necessary assistance.
Our thoughts are with the people of Wayanad at this difficult time.
The devastation unfolding in Wayanad is heartbreaking. I have urged the Union government in Parliament to extend all possible support, including increased compensation and its immediate release to the bereaved families.
Our country has witnessed an alarming rise in landslides in recent years. The need of the hour is a comprehensive action plan to address the growing frequency of natural calamities in our ecologically fragile regions.
I am deeply anguished by the massive landslides near Meppadi in Wayanad. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones. I hope those still trapped are brought to safety soon.
I have spoken to the Kerala Chief Minister and the Wayanad District Collector, who assured me that rescue operations are underway. I have requested them to ensure coordination with all agencies, set up a control room, and inform us of any assistance needed for the relief efforts.
I will speak to Union Ministers and request them to provide all assistance possible to Wayanad.
I urge all UDF workers to assist the administration in the rescue and relief operations.
