It's been 40 years since @trivillagesb appeared in a state final four and they made the most of the trip earning the program's first state softball title with a 6-0 victory over Garaway in the D6 State Championship.
Elizabeth Poling had a strong start inside the circle retiring the first 10 batters she faced allowing the #2 Patriots (30-0) the opportunity to get on the board first which they did in the second inning.
Camryn Osborne was hit by pitch to start the inning and advanced to second on a fielders choice. Tai Mize then followed with an RBI single. After Mylee Bierly was hit by a pitch to load the bases Emma Greer walked to make it 2-0 after two.
The Pirates (20-11) tried answering in the top of the fifth. Kyleigh LaCroix led off with a single and moved to third on a one out ground out. Maklayah Glazer then walked, but Poling got a grounder back to her to end the threat.
Tri-Village then added on in the bottom of the inning. Greer started off with a single and Osborne later walked with two out. Aereonna Baker then sent a double into the right-center field gap scoring both runners for a 4-0 lead.
They again added more insurance in the sixth when Mize led off with a double and Bierly was hit-by-pitch for the second time. Greer then provided an RBI single and Bierly scored one batter later on a wild pitch making it 6-0.
Garaway got a one out double by LaCroix, but Poling got a line drive double play to end the game.
The Patriots add a 2025 State Championship next to their 1980 State Runner-Up trophy while the Pirates finish as 2025 State Runners-Up in their first trip to the Final Four.
