Ministry leaders: It's possible to be pastorally faithful, professionally effective, and personally healthy at the same time.
My father and I have a book releasing a month from today that points the way.
Available to preorder now from wherever you get your books.
The kind of leaders I love to be around all share one thing in common: They take the task seriously without taking themselves seriously.
They can lead with confidence and be the first one to laugh at themselves when they miss the mark.
@brandon_d_smith Agreed.
Faithful to his Lord.
Faithful to his wife.
Faithful to his sons.
Faithful to his friends.
Faithful to his church.
Faithful to his community.
I pray everyone has a dad or a pastor like him.
I had both.
This is my dad.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve called him to ask questions and seek wisdom on ministry leadership these last 16 years.
Many ministry leaders don’t have this kind of mentor - so we wrote a book about how to thrive in leadership.
We hope it encourages you!
My dad is finishing over 30 years as senior pastor of the same church.
He’s leaving it in the healthiest position it’s ever been in (new believers, clear discipleship plan, core leadership, strong finances, etc).
We wrote a book to encourage & equip new ministry leaders.
"God is worth knowing for who He truly is and not who we might imagine Him to be or who we'd like to imagine Him to be."
This week on Knowing Faith, Jen, JT, and Kyle discuss the question, "Is God too mysterious to truly know?" Listen now wherever you find your podcasts!
All I need for the new Narnia film to do is puncture people's immanent frame. That's it.
As long as they walk out thinking: "Huh, maybe this world is actually supernatural? Maybe there is more than meets the eye?"
If they leave "hungry"and "open" - I'll be satisfied with that.
One of the things I really respect about Dr. Allen and MBTS - they don't *just* talk about being For the church.
Did you know that Dr. Allen, the president of the seminary, preaches at his local church 40+ times a year?
He's in the trenches with ministry leaders.
I love that.
October means Pastor Appreciation Month, which means Midwestern Seminary will spend this month blessing and encouraging those who serve the church.
Don't miss out on these offerings and opportunities.
Yeah - this is great news.
Absolute slam dunk for MBTS.
Any school that wants to be taken seriously in the future will create real opportunities (and incentives) for students to engage with the Great Books.
Introducing the Veritas Honors Program.
Two years of the Great Books, thoughtful dialogue, and Christian formation alongside fellow Spurgeon College scholars.

@RyanFrontz@jt_english Ryan - I can't tell you how encouraging this is to hear. Has there been any of the first five weeks (topics, questions, readings) that you or your crew have particularly resonated with or been impacted by?
Glad to be on this journey with you!
Yesterday - I was blown away by the amount of stories @jt_english and I received from churches, small groups, and leaders who are beginning the Deep Discipleship Program.
Groups of 3, groups of 30, groups of 100s.
God is inviting us *all* into the deep things.
Let's go.
For over ten years, @jenniferwilkin, @jt_english and I, have been working together to make Deep Discipleship accessible to ordinary people in ordinary churches.
That has all culminated with this: https://t.co/Y6XmfvoZDO
You and your people are hungry for depth.
Let's go!
@MrsJuanCordero@jt_english Let's go, Angela! We are in your corner. We kicked off at the church I pastor this week too! We are making the journey together!
