Hard disagree oh. The videos of that era were a direct rip off of American HipHop and R&B videos. It was all the rave back then to have 100s of "vixens" in your music video as background props, JayZ, Nelly, Sisqo the list goes on. There was even an era in Nigerian music video history where the directors used to get called out for frame to frame direct copies of HipHop and R&B videos.
You can say a lot about what's happening in the music video space in this generation but a lack of creativity might be a bit of a stretch
